The Power in Prayer

Even as a young child, I never understood prayer. I thought it was a waste of time. You can say I was raised in a christian home, but even then I wasn’t a fan of religion, yet alone prayer. I was foolish.

I couldn’t get past the aspect of “worshiping an almighty God”. But maybe prayer isn’t all about God. What I’ve learned on my journey is that our hearts are giant magnets and we attract what’s truly in our hearts. Period. Understanding the true powers of the heart and the true powers of our words gave me clarity about the power in prayer. When our hearts are filled with love, compassion, generosity, and gratitude, we attract more of this to our life. It’s the same with our words. When we bring these words to life, like many of us do when we pray, chances are we’ll attract this to our lives as well. Vise Versa. When we have a heart of negativity and we speak words of negativity, the outcome maybe a negative life.

At the end of the day, we’re just taught to live a life of love, compassion, generosity, and gratitude. I think that’s the true meaning behind any religion, but prayer never hurts!
